What is the comparable size of the king M31? I know M21 is similar to a bach 12C only deeper.

How much different is the M31 to King 7C that was included with king horns?

Very Different.

The M31 is more like an 11 inner rim diameter (Approximately 24.7mm) with a deep, bowl shaped cup more akin to Bach "B" cups. This was common practice to have (what is now considered) a smaller inner rim diameter coupled to a deep cup. The 3B was labelled "Concert" and was considered a do anything horn, much like a 36 is today. It was not conceived as a "jazz" horn. The M31 design help to that tradition.

Hope that helps.

I have 2 M31`s . Now I`m mostly a 7C player on my small horns. I own a couple Bach 7`s and I`ve found that the M31 is very close to a Bach 7 rim. The cup and Back bore are very different. I find the M31 to have a more concert band feel to it, if that means anything.
I have a pre-WWI King Euphonium and I was having a real hard time finding a mouthpiece that played well with the horn. The M31 works fantastic. It`s not a modern large bore Euphonium , it`s small but not a Baritone.
I pt a Wick tone booster on the M31 and it played better with the horn,
