I really agree with the perspectives in there. It's fine to have compromises in our equipment. Most of us have various degrees of modern features in our instruments and each of us has to determine for ourselves what the limit is. But I think what these makers/players promote is the right approach. We should aim for the most historical set-up we can afford and are able to make work, and then be conscious about what modern compromises we make and what effect they have, rather than aiming for the most comfortable/familiar set-up and being more or less conscious about the few historical elements.
