FS: Bach Corp. 50B single bass PRICE REDUCED

Post by biggiesmalls » Fri Feb 14, 2020 2:35 pm

I recently acquired this lovely 50B from a retired pro player on the West Coast, who purchased the horn new in 1977.

This 50B is about as "Bach" as it gets, with a dark, warm, resonant sound, open blow, and secure, tight slots with spot-on intonation.

Slide action is 8.5-9/10, with a clean bow, 100% intact inner plating, and no signs of stocking wear or stress. The valve is smooth, fast, and relatively quiet.

The flare is remarkably clean, with no dents or signs of trauma. A couple of minor dings were burnished out of the throat and tuning crook at some point, and the bell brace and receiver/valve knuckle joints were re-soldered in the past.

The lacquer condition is typical for a Corp. Bach, so just enjoy the classic freckled patina. After the first few notes, you won't care about the finish. On the audience side of the bell, the flare lacquer still looks great.

Comes with original French style case in very good original condition.

Price reduced to $1499 shipped to CONUS, includes cash/check/transfer discount of 3.5%. Shipped price for credit card transaction is $1580. At this point I'm not looking for trades.

Thanks for looking!
