FS: King 2115 2b+ Price Drip-Drop SOLD

Post by cctbone » Wed Feb 12, 2020 1:06 pm

This is a ~1983-1984 King 2b+ 2115 gold brass bell trombone that was purchased new old stock about 8 years ago. It’s a nice horn.

Serial number 940xxx on the bell section.
503G is stamped on the slide section.

There is no stocking wear on the inners. There are light scratches on the upper outer slide tube. The slide plays smooth and fast. The 2115 2b+ lightweight gold brass slide leadpipes have a slightly larger venturi than their yellow brass cousins.

The bell section has some light dings on the bell and a small ding on the tuning slide that are all just cosmetic. No counterweight. Overall this is a really clean horn.

The gold brass bell helps give the horn a nice focused warm core to the tone. When pushed it can plays bright. I’ve gigged with this horn. Although the horn and slide are advertised as lightweight, this 2b+ has sufficient weight to cut through for nice jazz lead sound in a big band. I think it’s one of the better 2b+s I’ve played.

The case is the original coffin case. The exterior and interior condition is terrific. All latches work perfectly.

$950 including shipping in continental U.S. Will ship elsewhere for some added shipping price.
