Is the valve trigger on a Yamaha 620 adjustable? The linkage rod has a knurled connector that appears to be turnable.

As far as I remember, the thumb trigger of both model is not adjustable, at least by normal means. The Eb/D paddle of the bass, on the other hand, can be adjusted.

The tenor.

The trigger assembly t is a good fit as it is and it works really well in conjunction with the Neotech grip I have on the horn. I've just been looking at that knurled connector on the rod and it looks like it can be unscrewed. Actually, I expect it can be unscrewed, it's how the thing is put together. I was just wondering if it was an adjustment screw or a leave it along and don't touch it screw.

My guess is that you can unscrew it a bit to make it longer - and raise the thumb lever. You would need to first remove the linkage from the valve. The set screw holds it on. But, like I said... this is a guess. Please try it and let us know!

(Yamaha got back to me. The trigger lever on 620 is not, by design or intent, adjustable. They did suggest that if I was having an issue with it to see a repair person at an authorized Yamaha dealer. They furnished a link to my hometown dealer, which has a good repair person. As I'm not having an issue with the lever, I will let the matter rest)
