BrassArk CV Piece

Post by Carter1016 »

Has anyone tried this piece or the CV 2.0? I’m testing out the Orchestral Bass piece right now and I was just wondering about the other two

Reminded me of a 95D when I tried it at ITF 2017. One of the best pieces at the show.

Very efficient blow for the size but it has that 95D style absurdly large rim.

I did inquire about getting a different sized rim and if they could screw rim it for XB or LB Elliott rims and they told me it wasn't a problem.

Haven't had a chance to try the 2.0 version.

Yes. I had one for a bit. very different than you average Greg Black 1G or Laskey 93 or 95. I found it really pretty bright on my horn at the time. My friend had a Shires Pro Select that was very dead with a 93; the CV brought it to life.

It has a 95 rim, I think, which is huge. I could probably use it if I took some serious time, but I'm more comfortable on a size smaller.
