Small accidental discovery

Post by Mv2541 »

I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who use both Rath trombones and Elliott mouthpieces, so here is something for you:

If your shank is stuck to your cup, you can insert it into the bell section slide receiver and tighten the nut around the shank. Then just twist the cup a tiny bit until the seal is broken and viola! I would loosen the nut and remove the mouthpiece before completely separating the two parts but that should be fairly obvious.

I think a box end wrench would be a safer discovery. You don't want to damage that part of your Rath putting unnatural stress on it.

Aye. Invest in a 1/2" box end wrench instead of living on the edge. ;)

Doug, maybe that's a tchotchke you could offer - an official Doug Elliot branded spanner.
