Loud Mouthpieces

Post by Schlitz »

Been observing the general goofiness on their website over the last few days. What’s the scoop? Is it a really good freak Show?

Wow.. i was writing a serious answer and then i was checking their website..
10.000$ per mouthpiece! and after reading the 28 page long "dynomics 101" directly linked on the first page i get the image of a destroyed family and sadly of a broken woman. I don't have any further insight, but this seems really sad..

so.. because i already wrote it, here's the serious paragraph:

i came into possession of one of their pieces for bass trombone some while ago. the design seems to have changed significantly since then, but here's what i can tell from this piece i have:
the name says it. It's loud. really likes a lot of air and does really well at the highest possible output.
However.. nothing comes without cost. I found it really hard, to NOT play loud and cut through the whole orchestra constantly. Blending was really hard with it.

Greetings,
shider

My opinion of them is they allow you to have slightly more weight to the sound when you really "push" a note. It's barely noticeable though. One thing I don't like about them is they have a larger than normal shank so they don't always have the best fit for your particular trombone. I don't use them often.

That is the most well done spoof web site I have ever seen. Bravo!

I didn't find a single misspelling or grammatical error, either.

My credit card company rejected my $10,000 payment for a new Loud mouthpiece. :weep:

Did I do something wrong? :???:

Perhaps I neglected to include sales tax!

Not sure what happened to their website? I got mine for $150. I'm willing to part with it for $75

Did you read the entire document for the Dynamic Economics thing? It's 28 pages and quite the read. I'm not sure it's a spoof... :amazed:

Yeah doesn't look like a spoof and it's actually a bit scary. At several points I was getting frightened it would end up revealing itself as a suicide note at the end.

Yeah, that's the feeling i got.. Kind of depressing and full of bitterness. Like a cry for help.
Nobody can seriously think you can save a business by increasing the products price by over 6000% while maintaining the original quality :idk:

I saw the web site at work, and security blocked the Economics thing, so no I haven't read it yet. I'll try to remember to pull it up at home.

I read it on my phone. Sigh. Wish I hadn't.

Now I do have to retract one statement. There were some grammatical errors in that part.

If it's a spoof it's a good one, might be akin to Poe's Law. I think it is time for me to drop this, it's getting too close to politics and religion.

It doesn't look like a joke or a spoof to me. It looks like some seriously bad stuff has gone down in someone's life and they are venting on their site.

Mods, y'all might wanna just lock this sucker down.

I'm still moving and a few mods are travelling right now so I'll at least temporarily lock this up and we'll figure out the best way to proceed. When a divorce is involved, an exponential number of additional possibilities pops up. (Stories of a divorce lawyer saying that assets must be sold and 50% goes to the other spouse, so sports cars get sold for $50 out of spite, etc. etc.) But I don't know how useful any further discussion may be as the only person who knows the motivations behind that message is the one who posted the message in the first place.

Long story short: If you want a LOUD mouthpiece, you'd best take out a second mortgage for the time being.
