King 3B lead pipe alternative

Post by Dsbones »

Asking suggestions for an alternative lead pipe for a king 3B. Building a new hand slide and looking for options and experience etc

Thanks

You can try Brassark/Brad Close's 32H leadpipe made to 0.508 inch. it feels more open than stock 3B two-piece leadpipe. Blow is more consistent but maybe the characteristic King "zing" sound is harder to produce with 32H leadpipe.

That's the one I use. It took a long time to get but it is very nice.

I would suggest a Shires #2 .508 pipe.

O'Malley in Chicago makes a 3B leadpipe that is one piece instead of two.

Try about 6 or 7 in an actual playing situation!!!

IMHO the ONLY way to tell if a pipe will work for you!
