I know someone who plays trumpet and has air pockets in the lower lip. I tried to explain him to keep the mouth corners engaged and not to allow air to enter there, but seems that with no help. Any idea how to help someone get rid of that air pockets?
Thanks,
Andrei

I'm sure you'll get many ideas on here but one simple one that's been a pretty effective cue for most I've worked with is to think about keeping the lip/inner mouth tissue flat up against the teeth--this makes the player keep the chin and lower lip area flat and is usually easy to "wake up" the right muscles w/o doing mental gymnastics.

The hard part is keeping that going into playing, when the player is completely used to collapsing.
