Hello,
I’ve acquired an Olds 0-21, which I enjoy really playing. The felt and cork pads that dampen the valve movements are pretty old and don’t dampen very much. Where can I find replacements and how will I know if they are the correct thickness so the valve openings line up with the tubes?
Many thanks for any hints,
John

You might try contacting TOPE Band Supply; they sell a lot of different pads and felts.

I contacted them and they have sent a felt/cork package. How does one know what the correct thickness is so that the valves align properly? Is there an industry standard?JohnL wrote: Sun May 24, 2026 2:00 am You might try contacting TOPE Band Supply; they sell a lot of different pads and felts.

I don't think there is an industry standard. Hopefully they've seen this before and know which are the right parts. If you want to check, you can always buy a cheap flex cam that connects to your phone.johntarr wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 2:07 pm I contacted them and they have sent a felt/cork package.
