Local Facebook listing. I figure the bell braces should give somebody a clue as to what this is. The seller is no help.

Those braces made from rod make me think Getzen.

The owner, after two weeks, finally responded. It is a Yale Super.

Was the "Yale Super" a Getzen 'stencil?'Kingfan wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 9:19 am The owner, after two weeks, finally responded. It is a Yale Super.

I did my best at Googling and found nothing on them.

Getzen Surviving Brass Instruments
I wouldn't necessarily call it definitive, but there are a few Yale cornets/trumpets listed.

Re: Can anybody recognize this trombone?
The picture does not show the end of the slide. My late fifties Getzen had only a reinforcing strip on the end of the slide, no peg. Therefore, I could not add a rubber bumper and the horn continually slipped and tried to wreck itself on anything nearby. I do not remember it having industrial bracing.
Bruce Guttman spoke fondly (NOT!) of his early association with Getzen. If you search Getzen and Bruce you may turn up something.
I can't imagine that this is a cheap imitation of a truly terrible instrument.

Re: Can anybody recognize this trombone?
Apparently Yale Super was indeed a name used by Getzen:

Probably not much more than a "student" model.

Thanks so much for the information, y'all. That is one of the things I like about this site - all the wisdom available when needed. The horn is for sale locally but I'm gonna pass.
