Youtube surprise

Post by timothy42b »

My Yahoo inbox showed me my YouTube analytics.

That was a surprise. I've had an account for many years but don't remember getting analytics.

It was also a surprise because 30 people had watched my videos in just March, and 24 of those views were on a short I'd done on a mini pBone.

And, that was a surprise again, because a while back I'd gone through my trombone videos and thought I'd marked them all private. Most of them were quick one-offs I'd done to illustrate some point, and in hindsight I thought they were too embarrassing.

I left a lot of disc golf videos public because I get feedback on form improvements.

Another surprise, I have 5 subscribers. I don't know how to find who they might be.

We're the p-bone vids linked here? That might've gotten you a few views.

Searching for trombone content is very hit‑or‑miss. I can search for a video I know exists—even using the exact title—and still get a flood of unrelated results. If I start using filters, the video usually shows up. Then, a week or so later, that same video will suddenly appear in the general search without filtering.
Any time I get a new piece for my trombone choir, I’ll search specifically to hear another choir’s performance of it.

That said, in those feeds, anything mentioning contrabass or soprano/mini trombone seems to draw the most views for some reason.
