Re: Pacific Symphony - Bass bone
Big changes in our local Pacific Symphony - 3/4 turnover in the low brass - and a new conductor (Carl St.Clair, who has led the Pacific Symphony for 35 years, is stepping down from the podium at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season). I still think of the bass trombone position as Bob Sanders' chair!

"Phil Keen is a freelance trombonist in the Los Angeles area. He is a member of the Long Beach Symphony, the Monterey Symphony, the Riverside County Philharmonic and the Fresno Philharmonic."
Phil has certainly played in the Pacific Symphony, as well as the LA Chamber Orchestra, the LA Philharmonic, etc. not to mention his substantial role in the "Hollywood studio" scene.
Don't know whether he's auditioning for the Pacific Symphony Principal Trombone position.

Ah, my bad. I was thinking of his Long Beach Symphony job.Posaunus wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 4:26 pm"Phil Keen is a freelance trombonist in the Los Angeles area. He is a member of the Long Beach Symphony, the Monterey Symphony, the Riverside County Philharmonic and the Fresno Philharmonic."
