OE Thayer Facebook Page

Post by Lhbone »

Todd Clontz, owner of OE Thayer, just launched a Facebook page today: https://www.facebook.com/share/1a1kb65k ... tid=wwXIfr

He also does amazing custom work. Just had an O’Malley bell and CAIDEX valve bell section assembled at his shop. Other than a couple of spare parts I had, he made everything else in shop. I wanted to give him a well-deserved shout out and support on here to help him spread the word. Go give him a like/follow! He’s based in Baltimore.

Wow! Beautiful work! From your experience how does the O'Malley bell compare to a standard Bach bell? Is it noticeably thinner?

This is their version of a 42G bell. I just sold a Bach 42G bell section that had a lighter 90s bell on it. It played VERY similar to this. I think the Bach had a little more core (could have been the smaller gooseneck that comes on Bachs), and the O’Malley has was a little more responsive and colorful but with lots of that classic Bach sound. Definitely having fun putting it through the paces.
