Bach 8 1/2 BW on alto
any thoughts/experience?

What horn is it supposed to be used with?
I’m usually a bit sceptical to Bach mouthpieces to alto trombones, but in the end every combination of mouthpiece, horn and player is unique.
I played a 8,5 BW with my Shires alto for some time, and was never entirely satisfied with the combination and the following results. I switched to first a 12C and then [EDIT] to a 7C and finally [/EDIT] to a Shires 11C and am more content now, though I still feel that I have more research and testing to do before being fully satisfied.
