I use the ProTec bass trombone mute bag. The key to using it is to have stands that are short enough. In addition to the mutes. I carry a Hamilton 3 section music stand and old style Hamilton Trombone stand that comes apart. My Hamilton trombone stand is very solid will securely hold a bass trombone.

To what kind of pad are you referring?

I am afraid that the stands I am using now are to long but I guess it would be worth checking out a Hamilton 3stand..
My pad is a Lenovo 12,7 "

Trond is in Europe. The BucketBoss is only available here in the States.

I use something like this:

IMG_0488.png

It has a telescoping handle and wheels on one end. I can carry a Hercules folding stand, a trombone stand, any number of mutes, music, mute holder, stand light (if needed), foot pedal (page turner). Best of all, with the wheels, I don’t have to lug it back and forth.

I use this to hold my mutes, bass trombone stand, mute stands, iPad 13" tablet, accessories bag (mouthpiece, tuner, glasses, clips of various sorts, screwdriver, ...), a chair cushion (!). The mutes, tablet, page turn pedal, etc. go in a plastic storage box that takes up about half the space. (Both my bass cup mutes break down into two pieces.) With the outside pockets it can hold a bunch of other stuff too, if you need it (3-ring binders, music folders, ...)

I’ve tried tool bags, volleyball backpacks and other bags. This has been by far the best. I’ll try to post pictures of it loaded with mutes. My trombone stand even fits inside.

The Protec bass trombone mute bag works fine for me. I don't carry a bucket mute, as the neoprene Softone mute is the standard usage in my area. What I especially like about this bag is for pit work. Its stiff-ish form allows me to position the straight and cup mutes up within easy grasp.

My trombone case holds my stout K&M trombone stand on the side sleeve pocket. Alas, I carry my full-sized folding stand separately.

Take a look at the duffel bags on Amazon. They come in all different sizes. They have duffel bags with handles, ------handles and wheels, ------handles and backpack straps, -------handles, wheels and backpack straps. Many of them have side pockets for your pad.

Will these accommodate a bass trombone cup mute?

Some of their pictures show it with a basketball or a soccer ball in one of the compartments. So it MIGHT hold a cup mute.

Here are some pictures of the bag in action. I have a 2 piece Dennis Wick cup mute so no problem on that. But I put it together, moved the dividers around (that are Velcro to the inside walls) and you can see in the other picture that would fit too. When you zip it shut the mute kind of bumps out the top but it zips shut no problem. When I was playing both tenor and bass more I could get most of my tenor and bass mutes in this bag. It's even got an inside padded pouch for music or iPad.

I took another look at my ProTec bass trombone mute bag and discovered that a K&M 149/9 trombone stand (the heavy duty one) and a K&M 10810 - sturdy music stand, will fit in the bag. Any stand 22" or less will fit. A couple of dividers that attach with velcro are also included to diminish the chance of mute damage.
