I am trying to buy the Coventry Carol arranged for Tbn 4tet by Bob Elkjer.
I can't seem to locate it anywhere!
Anybody know where I can find it?
Thanks!

It's part of a set including Deck The Halls in swing. My quartet played that plus other tunes at a nursing home gig today. Better than your average Elkjer arrangement.

Do you remember what the name of the set is? Or where to get it?hyperbolica wrote: Tue Dec 02, 2025 9:42 pm It's part of a set including Deck The Halls in swing. My quartet played that plus other tunes at a nursing home gig today. Better than your average Elkjer arrangement.

If you're talking about the one on the Trombones Under the Tree album, quick look at the CD jacket tells me that the Coventry Carol was arranged by Pickett. It's one of the pieces on there that does not have Elkjer's name next to it.
That said, volume one of Elkjer's arrangements has the piece in it. It does not have a star next to it on the contents page, indicating that version is not on the recording.

No, that's a different arrangement. The sheet music says it's on the Under The Tree album, but it's clearly different. Here's a performance of the Elkjer version, beautiful but somber:harrisonreed wrote: Wed Dec 03, 2025 4:54 am If you're talking about the one on the Trombones Under the Tree album, quick look at the CD jacket tells me that the Coventry Carol was arranged by Pickett. I've got a set of printed charts called Christmas Carols Volume 1, and it says "Arranged by Robert Elkjer":
- Deck the Halls
- Away in a Manger / Silent Night
- O Christmas Tree / The First Noel
- We Three Kings of Orient Are (5/4 Mission Impossible style)
- It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
- Coventry Carol
- Hark The Herald Angels Sing
Unfortunately, all the other volumes (2-6) are on the Robert Elkjer site https://robertelkjer.net/TrbnQuartetPage12.html except volume 1.
A web search finds it here:

Isn't that exactly what I said? The Elkjer version is not the one on the CD, if that's the one they actually want, but if OP actually wants Elkjer's arrangement, it's in volume one.hyperbolica wrote: Wed Dec 03, 2025 9:57 amNo, that's a different arrangement. I figured it was fair to make the distinction because usually people think that whole CD is Elkjer, and the arrangements are what they hear on the CD.
Also, yes, that link is illegal.

Re: Elkjer: Coventry Carol Quartet
I have volume 1 of Bob Elkjer's Christmas Carols for trombone quartet.
One of the pieces is Away in a Manger- Silent Night. The front page indicates it was recorded in 1991 at Indiana University ( M Dee Stewart, Joe Alessi, Mark Lawrence, Carl Lenthe), with indication of intended CD release in 1992.
