Price for an Edwards T-350

I have a very nice Edwards T-350 horn for sales, axial flow valve, three leadpipes (T1,T2,T3), standard yellow-brass bell and outer slide, and a straight neckpipe, valve servied recently by Edwards and given a clean bill of health, latent stresses in horn recently resolved by Eric Edwards, slide works great!

The horns plays great!

Lacquer wear in the usual contact spots, but very reasonable. Comes with original Edwards case.

Was thinking of asking $2,800 for it, does that seem reasonable?

Or does the Edwards name provide lots of additional cachet / market value?

The Getzen usually fetches a slightly lower price because of its compatibility with other components. Not a lot of different options for Getzens, while Edwards has a significantly larger set of components to choose from.

Besides the compatibility thing, Getzen's are more common/easier to find since they have far more dealers than Edwards, I think they also might have sold new for cheaper too but it looks like the prices have evened out. Adds a bit of "exclusivity" to Edwards even though they are all built in the same factory by the same people. Either way, having Edwards stamped on the bell does add maybe $100-$400 compared to a getzen of the same condition.

I'd list out the specific part names when selling it (321CF bell, rose duel-radius tuning slide, etc.). It also helps if someone professional/famous plays that configuration or a similar one. Getzen has a Minimum Advertise Price (MAP) policy for all their instruments. If you call or visit a dealer you can get their actual selling price. I'm not sure about the policy for Edwards trombones, but you can be sure the actual selling price will be significantly higher for the Edwards.

I'll spell out all the components, but I'm not a huckster.

My gut tells me $2,800 is a pretty good price, it's a very good horn, I've just gravitated to Bachs, and primarily play a Bach 50, so my recently rebuilt 42 blows more like the 50, and also has nice parts compatibilty with both the 50 and my 36.
