I've been playing Denis Wick mouthpieces for years and still don't sound a thing like Denis Wick himself. Not sure what I'm doing wrong

LOL I have a $5,000 horn but can’t double tongue worth a hoot. Didn’t actually pay that much for the horn, but that would be the price for a new one today.

I still attribute certain personality traits based on the instrument someone plays, and expect the flute players to all be cute.
I have horns with a total value exceeding the money I have ever earned from playing them, and my owning them is like giving a 16-year-old a Ferrari as his first car.

I will never have to choose between a musically fulfilling gig that pays poorly and a well-paying gig that's not musically fulfilling.

I had a gig in the last millennium that paid $50, ergo I am nearly semi-pro

I love that LEGO mouthpiece caddy, lol.
I have noticed that my friends who are absolute peak professionals have the uncanny ability to casually play equipment of any level and sound amazing on it, and not even complain. Me, the moment I'm on a slight variation of a horn I already play, it all goes straight to heck

Every mouthpiece sounds the same when I play, but I still buy more
I own a trombone, playing is a different thing...
