I would guess a few years around 1970
I think the Holton van Haneys were mid '70's and Giardineli was before that. I played a Holton VH-LBT for a very short time about 1975. Before that some of my classmates were using the Giardinelli van Haney. I think John Marcellus (my teacher at the time) was using one. I had a Symphony T which was almost the same thing but maybe a little shallower.
As far as I know the tenor and bass versions were produced at the same times, for both Giardinelli and Holton.

Are there any other differences between the Van Haney model and Symphony T than cup depth? Throat/ backbore etc.

Hard to quantify since I don't have one to compare. Also Symphony T was supposed to have a .250 throat but mine was .261. So as usual, it depends on the individual sample with that kind of inconsistency. And back then I ordered the small shank version to use on my 36B and it was horrible, unplayable.
