Anika Nilles live

Post by AndrewMeronek »

This is a discovery of mine, checking out if the new Rush drummer had some good live performances captured in video and uploaded to Youtube.

Curiosity whetted.

I get it but you missed a lot of great playing.

No, actually. They have some good tunes and they're obviously good musicians. I just have not gotten into their stuff much. I picked up a CD of Clockwork Angels once to see if I'd dig it, and I don't. My criticism of that album is the engineering: everything sounds like tinny, over-processed mush.

I agree with you regarding Clockwork Angels. Most of what I like are the earlier recordings from the 80's and 90's, especially the live recordings.

I love this "nerdy" fusion stuff!

Too bad there aren't too many club gigs with that kind of music nowadays :(

If you watch the doc of their last tour when Neil retired you’ll see that the band has quite a few female fans.

In their heyday, they had practically zero female fans.

I was happy enough to leave my Rush 8-track in the box in the attic with my velour shirts.
