I was wondering if there was an alternate style of bracing for the closed wrap 42B. I know there’s edge style bracing but i’m not sure if that’s only for open wrap.
Thanks!!

Re: Edge/Alt Style Bracing for 42B
"Edge bracing" refers to bracing the valve tubing directly to the cross brace rather than to the bell. Since the 42B closed wrap doesn't have a cross brace, that isn't possible. Some people like to remove one of the small braces and move the other to the tuning slide ferrule rather than directly to the bell. Personally, I don't think it makes much difference, but some people swear by it.

This is how we are bracing our closed wrap horns - no bracing directly on the bell or neckpipe, similar in concept to modern horns with "edge bracing."
