I’ve seen a bit of talk about the new Laskey Gilkes piece, but wondering if anyone has played the Laskey MD and MD+ pieces and can comment on them? According to the specs they only seem to differ in throat size, both 25.2 rim.

Re: Laskey Michael Davis mouthpieces
Hey. I've been playing the Laskey MD+ for about 6 weeks on Book of Mormon, on a Gilkes Shires with #3 nickel lead pipe. And have been loving it. Rim is smaller than I tend to like but there was something about the sound I really liked, so I persevered.
Is great on a mic, very smooth between notes, compact yet rich sound. I like it. Doesn't feel like a mouthpiece that is going to light up in acoustic situations though. But that could be me still learning to play efficiently on a smaller rim. The rim seems to be a bit more round than the flatter Shires/Pickett ones.
Maybe falls under that smallish specs (for me) but larger. heavier mass that gives it a richer sound. Maybe a bit Greg Black like?
