In the Yamaha slide compatibility thread, I have seen someone said that there is no active Yamaha specification list. So I decided to made one.

The list is not exhaustive, still missing many information, especially weight and those of older models. Your contribution would be highly appreciated

Please help add I am not familiar with many of the older models, and Yamaha’s chaotic model number certainly doesn’t help!

I’ll add mine to the list if I can. Labeled 892ZX. It’s the same as the 891Z but with a valve section. I’ll will have a cut bell soon so then it would be a 892ZXD.

Thank you for such a great list! This is much better than the one that existed but disappeared. And it obviously cost you a lot of precious time! I can give info and give links for the 445 through 448 models. They all have the same 8.5 gold bell. They add a "G" to the model for that reason. I have owned a 445G and 448G in the past. Also here is a link verify everything.

I just added a ton of models to the list. Working on filling out the specs.

Another suggestion is a column for lead pipe material. The link above is for the current 640/620 models. Here Yamaha did not use the gold brass bell they often used for medium and large bore "G" models, but instead use a yellow bell and a gold brass lead pipe. Another way to capture that is just have a "Misc. Notes" column. Then you could put gold brass lead pipe there and for any other oddity for any other model would have a place. Again, great work.

Edit: Or perhaps another way to capture is just put "Fixed, gold" in the existing column.

I have a 882VG that doesn't quite align with your list.

The bell is definitely 220mm and the slide receiver did not take either Bach or Conn slides. Tested with A47 and 88H handslides, the Bach fit too snug and the screw won't go on, and the Conn wasn't even close to fitting. It would not fit a 446 slide either.

I believe mine was an early model, did they change specs over the years?

According to the Japanese official website, the bell diameter is 216 mm. Maybe variation?

The “Bach type” receiver does not denote that the horn is compatible with Bach slide. It just denotes the receiver that is “stepped” at the mouthpiece receiver (those of Xeno horns) as opposed to one-piece (those of 300, 400, and 600 series).

I have a 643II and will fill in data for my horn a bit later.

However, what's in there so far says that the 643II continued the unusual .551 bore size of the earlier model.. I was under the impression that by model II, the 643 had changed to the more standard .547.

I don't have a caliper to measure the bore size.

I believe the 893ZD is .500-.525 dual bore.

Admittedly I am not that familiar with small bore horns.
