Seamed handslide crooks

I’ve been hunting for some info on seamed handslide crooks and haven’t come up with much, so I figured I’d ask here - how do they play vs the equavalent drawn crooks? Who all (still) makes them?

I’m somewhat familiar with and enjoy playing on seamed leadpipes and tuning slides, and thought it might be neat to look into for a long term project. So far I’m only aware of two makers that produce and sell them - the O’Malley shop in Chicago, and Matthias Hoelle (in Germany?) - but I’m sure there are more out there. I know some makers like SE Shires, Edwards, and M&W also produce seamed neckpipes/tuning slides/etc, but I haven’t seen anything else outside of marketing material. I believe the Brassark/sawday refitted horns use them as well as some instruments by european makers (Markus Leuchter, HSM, possibly HAAG and Voight?), but I’m not 100% sure on this either.
