Conn 82H?
Checking to see if anyone has any experience with the Conn 82H? There is very little info on Conn Loyalist, the interwebs in general, or the forum about the horn. I have run across a 7.5 inch bell, straight, TIS model that seems interesting. It appears to have also come in 8 and 8.5 inch bell versions and maybe even with an F attachment based on what little I found. .522 bore. Wasn't manufactured for very long, which always makes me wonder.

I like mine. 82h is to 78h like a cornet is to a trumpet.
Used it here
and here
also see: 42h, 80h, 76h. Never tried those.

Thanks! After playing a little I think that is an apt analogy. Gets a really nice mellow sound. I can't seem to get it to break up no matter how hard I push it. It seems like it would be a good small ensemble horn and clearly for lighter jazz stuff like what you played (very nice, BTW!).jacobgarchik wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 2:24 pm I like mine. 82h is to 78h like a cornet is to a trumpet.
Not sure yet if it's going to be a keeper or not...

Aside, nice playing, great sound, and love the clarity of the recording as well.jacobgarchik wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 2:24 pm I like mine. 82h is to 78h like a cornet is to a trumpet.

Re: Conn 82H?
At one time I had the 80H with the F-attachment. Satin silver, 8" bell, 0.522" bore with TIS and the particular one that I owned had the optional tuning slide to put the attachment in Eb instead of F. Remarkably I soon found a nice 82H (also satin silver) to pair with the 80H slide. Based on the S/N's both horns were built in 1923. I think I ended up selling everything as a set on eBay.
