King 2103 question

Almost 30 years ago when my daughter was in high school we bought her a used King T-bone that has been gathering dust in a closet ever since. On the bell it’s stamped KING 2103 U.S.A. But there’s no 3B or anything under that. SN on crossbar is 931199. Stamped on the slide is A 7232. Is this an inexpensive student horn (maybe a step above the Yamaha that we first got her), or does it have some value? Trying to decide whether to donate it or sell it. Thanks for any info!

That's a 3B, just the name for it at the time. Good horn!

At the time this horn was built King was putting the 21xx numbers on the bell and often not including the old designations. As translation:

2102 is 2B
2103 is 3B
2104 is 4B
2105 is 5B
2106 is 6B
2107 is 7B
2108 is 8B
2115 is 2B Plus
2125 is 3B Plus

These are all the pro line horns.

I don't know what condition it's in, but a 2103 in beater shape could be as low as $250 while a 2103 Silver Sonic (sterling silver bell) with F-attachment in mint condition could be worth $2000.

Lots of these find their way to the next generation if they are interested.
