Main Tuning Slide Alignment

Post by JTeagarden »

I have an Edwards T-350 which is now playing well after I worked through a few things, but when I take off the main tuning slide, which moves perfectly well, it is very hard to get back on, as the tube and receiver are ever-so-slightly out of alignment, and I have to squeeze in the receiver on the bell to get it to fit.

Is this stress any cause for concern?

It's certainly better if it fits perfectly, and a good tech can make that happen.

Here's a tip for modular instruments: don't tighten the bell stays all the way down until the tuning slide is in.

Damn, yeah, both logical and kind of obvious when you think about it! Thanks!
