No winner selected…for the world famous Arkansas Symphony. These no hire auditions are getting ridiculous. Surely someone who showed up was good enough to do the job. Some of these regional orchestras really need to get over themselves.

Auditioning is hard and there might have been a worthy candidate who didn’t audition well… I don’t like no hires, but I’m sure the committee also doesn’t like no hires!

Maybe the juice wasn't worth the squeeze for any decent bass trombonists?

Sometimes I wonder if some of these "no hires" are actually "position offered but declined". There's several reasons why someone might go through the entire audition process, be offered the position, and ultimately decide it's not right for them.JTeagarden wrote: Fri May 30, 2025 8:26 amMaybe the juice wasn't worth the squeeze for any decent bass trombonists?

This one wasn't, and some good bass trombonists were there.
