Honorable mention goes to TMEA Feb 12-15 in San Antonio. Not specifically trombone but all the same stuff will be there at the exhibits.

I will be exhibiting at ATW, TMEA, and ITW

I got a notification from Hornguys with this info:
Southern California Brass Events, Winter 2025

January 23-25

The NAMM Show, THE music products industry show, is in Anaheim and the public can buy tickets. Among our esteemed vendors, find these makers at NAMM: Adams, daCarbo, Earaser, Konig & Meyer, John Packer, Paxman UK, Protec, Michael Rath, Schilke, Taylor

Saturday January 25

The 25-piece strong Southern California Brass Consortium will perform "Brass Magic", a concert of brass music at Bay Shore Community Church in Long Beach, 3pm.

Sunday January 26

The Horn Guys Penultimate Open House is in Pasadena from noon to 5pm. We’ll be serving local food and beer and featuring several local musical artists and friends. Meet Andi Keller of daCarbo, Charles Hargett of BrassMavens and visit with your peers, colleagues and mentors. Try premier European instruments and custom mouthpieces. Beer tab’s on us. All ages welcome. Secret special guests.

Saturday February 22

Trombone Day Los Angeles is at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, featuring Dallas trombonist Tony Baker. Attend masterclasses, lectures, concerts and displays by premier instrument makers and shops. Bring your horn, stay all day.
I don't know if any of these are impacted by the burning landscapes.

The NAMM Show is going right now. The air is clear here in Anaheim, and the fires are quite a few miles away.

Long Beach is also quite a ways from any of the fires, and I don't see any smoke plume in that direction.

The Horn Guys location in Pasadena, on the other hand, is less than three miles from the edge of the Eaton fire evacuation zone. As of this morning, that fire is 95% contained, so I would expect everything to go on as planned (though I'd suggest keeping an eye on the Horn Guys social media for updates if you're planning to attend.

Trombone Day is too far off to anticipate.

Given the number of people displaced, either temporarily or permanently, by the fires, it's a real possibility that there are individuals who are expected to participate who have far more important things to worry about right now.

The UN says London is a Music City…
https://www.londoncityofmusic.ca/

I post this link with my tongue mostly in cheek. Not many in Canada’s London fully understand how this designation makes sense, but there it is.

For anyone who comes, the Western University campus is sprawling and green. The music building is a beautiful stone structure.

For leisure I’d recommend a stroll through one of the ESA’s https://london.ca/ESA or Springbank Park. If you’re a runner, following the Thames Valley Parkway is a great way to get an overview of the best of the city AND the homeless encampments hidden in the bush.

At any rate, the couple ITF’s I’ve been to were quite insular anyway and were about the clinics and concerts, not the background sites to see.
