My instruments
I am getting a YEB-321 euphonium next week. I will be playing euphonium in a local British Brass Band. I will be doubling on the euphonium and trombone in my local Concert Band. In my local Swing Ensemble I will be playing the trombone.

YEB is an Eb tuba. The Euphonium is YEP. Except for using a small shank mouthpiece it's really a nice horn. The snobs will deride you for not getting a compensator like the 641, but I knew a couple of guys who could really play the heck out of the things.

Re: My instruments
I have a 621 leadpipe/receiver I’d be happy to sell if you ever want to switch to large shank. That’s the way to do it. I play a non-compensating horn as well and other than the low note complications I think everything else about it is superior.

No, but thank you for offering. I like the small bore it plays similar to my small bore trombone. Besides, I can use the same mouthpiece in both horns.Kdanielsen wrote: Fri Dec 13, 2024 12:24 pm I have a 621 leadpipe/receiver I’d be happy to sell if you ever want to switch to large shank. Your equipment choices are good for where you are as a comeback player. A few years down the road, you may start exploring more options. At that point, it'll be good to remember that such a leadpipe exists.
