Mouthpiece recommendation
I know mouthpieces preferences are all based on personal opinion, however I am in the process of buying a new mouthpiece, so I would love to have some suggestions from the trombone community. I have been watching countless videos on mouthpieces from William Lang etc.

Re: Mouthpiece recommendation
Preference is more than personal.opinion. It's about what allows or encourages correct form for your particular facial structure and embouchure type. You can get close by trial and error, but any recommendations from me are based on my knowledge of embouchure function. There's a reason I make dozens of rim inner diameters and different rim widths; 14 cup depths just for tenors, and several different backbores for each cup. It may seem like a big puzzle but everything makes sense and is for a reason.

As has been already mentioned, mouthpiece choice is very personal. Just on small bore, you'll see great players using 12C to 5C.

Hard to know what to suggest without a little more detail about your horn, your taste, and your role in the ensemble.

Not to mention all the parameters that Doug Elliott has listed. He knows a few things!Reedman1 wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 6:34 pm Hard to know what to suggest without a little more detail about your horn, your taste, and your role in the ensemble.
