Are you including the Corp-era horns? Bach made some great horns during those years and, if an orchestral pro is playing one, it is probably one of them!

I wasn't originally, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to include those horns as well. As long as there is specification:greenbean wrote: Wed Aug 31, 2022 12:02 am Are you including the Corp-era horns? Chris Buckholz (Army Jazz Ambassadors lead trombone 1997-2005, currently 2nd trombone Santa Fe Opera) has been playing a MV12LT as his primary jazz horn for a few years.

I play a Corp 12!
Am I a trombone player who plays euphonium, or a euphonium player who plays trombone?

You could add the recently retired Bones Malone but it would be easier to make a list of the horns he didn’t play from this era judging by the consignment sale of his horns that went down recently.

Brian,
I have been playing a NY36B for a while now. I have been enjoying it quite a bit.

Could well be, last time I played his horn which was a long time ago it was a Corp with a 7.5 inch bell and lightweight nickel slide. One of the best 6's I've ever had the pleasure of blowing!

By chance just hit upon a very short (1:30) interview with Cordon Campbell where he mentions that he's playing a "Vincent Bach, an old Mount Vernon, V11 bell, original brass".
Took me a while to realize what he meant by "V one one"

Matt Niess (recently retired lead trombonist in the Army Blues) has played on an old Bach 6 forever - don't know what era though. Anyone know?

I think he is currently playing a Martin Imperial as his Jazz. Large bore he plays Edwards.

Yeah, he picked up that Martin at a pawn shop somewhere around 2010, IIRC. It's since been modified by BAC to have a modular F attachment / neckpipe and the Army star on the tuning slide.
