Latest bass builds
Thought I'd share a few of the latest basses I've built. Pictured are a butler bell independent, Courtois Bell (yellow brass) independent, and lastly, a 9" Gold George Roberts olds bell with Independent setup. All 3 built from scratch by me. I have one more to do with a gold bach 9.5" corp bell, then out of rotax valves, going to Meinlschmidt valves here on out.

Sure! Conn 62h bell, Hagmanns, and a vintage Conn Tis slide. I was able to marry the taper from the bell to the crook correctly since the Conn bell ships untrimmed.

Can you talk a little about your B11 bass mouthpiece?
Would love to know some specs or just general info.

I really like this valve wrap. It seems like it retains open wrap qualities without sticking way out behind the horn. Plus it just kinda looks cool.

Re: Latest bass builds
Thanks, actually just built that valve section for myself. That's a 9" George Roberts bell, .562 rotax valves, oversized tuning slide crooks (.593) billet gooseneck, cnc'd hardware, bubinga wood thumb rest, and single radius gold brass tuning slide. The throw on the F valve is short, and the G paddle hardly has to move at all.
It plays phenomenal, I don't know why I didn't built one for myself sooner. That wrap was just from messing around til I got to something that interested me. Best part is evenything just plays very even, no notes are distinguishable as being with or without a valve. As a result, I've been spending a ton of time getting very comfortable with alternate positions, especially with the G valve.

Beautiful craftsmanship. How is the weight distribution? Were there any thoughts on a Rath-type support added to the descending tubing of the F-attachment (as found on some contras). It'd be tough to add a bullet brace/ax handle to that configuration.LIBrassCo wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 12:39 am Thanks, actually just built that valve section for myself.
