Carousel/NY Phil at Lincoln Center

Post by AndrewMeronek »

A fantastic recording of a thought-provoking and emotional show, just uploaded a few days ago.

For a bit of fun: name the trombonists!

Has anyone here played this show? This is one of many that I have not. (yet. :pant: )

They may have just posted it, but Phil Smith is playing 1st trumpet and he left the orchestra in 2014.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious the show wasn't performed in Coronavirus Times.

Lincoln Center didn't think to include the recording date, but other sources (like IMDB) list April 26, 2013 as the "release date". Doesn't necessarily mean that's when this was recorded.

Is this a reference to Kabuki theater?

Thanks.

I've played Carousel three times. If you get the opportunity, play it. It's a tremendous show.
