This has been posted before. I love it because it is SO square.

I'm surprised they weren't getting people to clap on 1 and 3.

And Lindberg never puts his trombone down. I am trying to think of what Japan must've paid to get that set to occur. For sure that's a once in a lifetime lineup, though.

For some reason, the word disrespectful comes to mind.

Oh yes, "jazz," that's where you scoop into notes and use fast slide vibrato.

I agree with the comments but at least Lindberg did start out playing traditional jazz and it certainly influenced his vibrato when performing more classical music.

He's done the Shilkret and a couple of tribute pieces on his latest solo album, but it's a far cry from exclusive jazz artists' stuff.

Lindberg says he started out in a dixie group, but I'm fairly sure it was just a bunch of kids fooling around.

Of everyone on the stage, Alessi is probably the closest but he regularly says that it isn't his cup of tea and he is a "frustrated" jazz trombonist.

I'm sure Rainn Wilson could play a mean Mafioso character if he chose to..

Oh man... I'd call that a "Showtunes" medley: the only jazz there was coming from the rhythm section.  I'm hoping that the way-too-staccato articulation came from the arrangement, because it was just painful to listen to something that out of touch.  Have any of these guys listened to JJ or Sinatra's version of "Old Devil Moon" or Miles' version of "Love for Sale?"

I will say, though, that I was digging the nice fat pedal tones these guys were playing.

Lol so much wrong with that statement, even if it is just a parable.
