Bob Smith?

Post by ttf_Bleek »

Hi.  I was wondering if anyone knows what happened, or what is happening with Bob Smith these days? By credits he was very busy in New York in the 70s/80s but not much beyond then. He was playing lead bone on much of Bob Mintzer's great 80s big band albums. And his album "Bob's Diner" is some of my favorite trombone playing.
So just a fan wanting to hear more about him.

If you haven't heard his album it's worth checking out. Some sounds a bit cheesy these days, but his pitch and sound, and the ensemble playing with Jerry Vivino is beautiful.

I know of a Bob Smith in the Long Beach California area, I suspect it's the same guy.
