Hi all.

I'm trying hard to find some horn charts for Rick James music.  Specifically "You and I".

Anyone know a publisher that might have this?

Transcription is the easy answer.  But My transcription skills and time to do it are virtually nonexistant.

I'm having an incredibly tough time hearing all the parts in it.  And the band isn't in to Wild cherry.

How about Wild Cherry?  https://www.scribd.com/document/339001816/Play-That-Funky-Music-3-Horns-Rhythm-pdf

Did Wild Cherry do anything besides Play That Funky Music? I don't think much.

Much better to go with Ohio Players, early Earth Wind & Fire, Tower of Power kind of stuff.

So, listening to that tune, I hear:

Female vocals
Rick James singing
bass
guitar
drumset
trumpet
sax
trombone

Seems like a pretty standard setup for that style. Sometimes the easy answer is to go to whoever is managing the band's assets and ask them, but sometimes bands like this simply worked out charts from memory and never wrote them down.

These guys do transcriptions to order.  Good results and fair price.  Site is temporarily down it seems http://www.chartsandscores.com/

Slightly different version here:

here electric keys are apparent, although not real present in the mix. And, I'm not sure why the cameraman absolutely avoids whoever that is on the far right.  Image What is that? Marimba?? Image

Your signature says you're in Baltimore.
If that's the case, hit up Bernie Robier, he very well might have an old Admirals chart for it.
He might have the time to work up the parts for you if not.
He's a good contact and resource (and a good guy) if nothing else.

Tell him I said hey if you talk to him.
