Post by ttf_anonymous » Mon May 01, 2017 10:23 am

Still looking for a summer music festival? We are still accepting applications for trombone. Scholarships are available!

Spectrum Brass is excited to announce our Sixth-Annual Spectrum Brass Seminar, June 16 - August 13, 2017, at the Bay View Music Festival. Applications are being accepted for individuals and preformed groups for the full eight-week session, or for two four-week sessions from June 16 - July 18, and July 18 - August 13.

* General Info: http://bayviewfestival.org/

* For additional info about SBS: www.spectrumseminar.com

* For application: SBS Application:  https://www.yaptracker.com/applications ... ental-2017

The SBS faculty are:

* Scott Thornburg, trumpet
* Brian Buerkle, trumpet
* Aaron Brant, horn
* Andrew Mitchell, trombone
* Jacob Cameron, tuba

2012 was our inaugural year, and we have now had over 70 students from over 40 of the greatest music programs in the United States and Canada. So far we have had 3 active brass quintets formed by SBS alumni, and are excited about giving more students the performing and business tools they need to start an active, working quintet.

SBS participants will have an intensive experience featuring business/entrepreneurial classes, numerous brass quintet performances, and a large brass ensemble that ends each session with performances in venues across Northern Michigan. SBS students receive weekly lessons, quintet coachings twice per week, business/entrepreneurial classes twice per week, and 6 large brass coachings each session. In addition, each brass quintet will perform 4-5 times per session, and the large brass ensemble will perform multiple times per session.

The seminar sessions are focused on topics from branding/marketing a group to finding your way in the world of freelancing. We pride ourselves on preparing the SBS participants to be out in the brave new world of the arts and on the cutting edge of entrepreneurial training.

In addition, the Bay View Music Festival is located in one of the most beautiful summer resort communities in the country, with some of the best views, outdoor recreation, and beaches to be found anywhere! Check out the Bay View website - http://www.bayviewfestival.org

Please don't hesitate to contact me (via email) with any questions and of course, please forward this on to anyone that might be interested!
