Any recommendations for trombone sextets?

Post by jasonlvazquez »

Hello everyone!

I have a trombone sextet who will be competing locally at solo and ensemble, but I haven't had any luck finding anything to play for it. That being said, are there any recommendations for trombone sextet pieces that I should look into? My group is comfortable with playing medium to early advanced grade pieces.

Any and all comments appreciated!

You can always look on CPDL for music for 6 voices with ranges that fit. Keep in mind that many results you'll find are too high but can be (and in some cases, should be) played transposed down a fourth or fifth. Your search will probably yield at least a couple hundred results.

A few examples :

Already transposed down a 4th or 5th, but could played in original key down an octave (i.e. down a 5th or 4th from these editions)
