My ensemble director is trying to program the next few concerts and actually asked us what we'd like to play. Effectively nothing is off limits! So why not see what everyone's favorite pieces are (hopefully with strong trombone parts) and suggest those. I'll give a list of some of the pieces we've played in the past:

1st and 2nd Suite - Holst
Angels in The Architecture - Ticheli
Godzilla Eats Las Vegas - Whitacre
Scherzo for X-Wings - Williams
Machu Picchu - Satoshi Yagisawa
Irish Tune - Grainger

I suggested Hammersmith and Vesuvius already, so what pieces do you love to play?

The Holst suites are great music, but the trombone parts are not particularly interesting. The euph parts are fantastic though. That tends to be the case for pretty much all the British stuff. You can't go wrong with a good John Williams tune, as long as it is not too watered down.
