Looking for info: New York International Wind Band Festival Carnegie Hall

A band invited me to play with them at a gala concert in this festival. Anyone ever heard of it?

From what I understand it is a wind band festival aimed at high school and community ensembles. I am not in the usa so i have no idea about the level of those ensembles. Any idea?
Anyone ever participated? What was the attendance in the gala concert? Wich other ensembles played gala concerts on this event?
Playing in carnegie hall would be great, but i want to know a little more what to expect.
