Tar

Anyone seen this? Cate Blanchett is always watchable but I fear Tar is to orchestral music what Whiplash was to jazz.

Al Kaye did some of the trombone solo work in the soundtrack.

The premise of the movie is ... interesting. But is it entertaining / worth watching?

Yes, I saw that Al Kay was credited to what I thought was the Urbie-21Trombones recording of Here's That Rainy Day that I recognized immediately. I'm surprised they would go to the trouble of recreating it when they could have used the original recording.

It's a lot easier to pay attention to such things after you already know. Go see it yourself.

Director Todd Field was a professional jazz trombonist and pianist.
