Shipping through Facebook Marketplace

Post by Mamaposaune »

Has anyone here sold items on Facebook Marketplace and used their payment and shipping method? Apparently they have an arrangement with UPS and the shipping costs are considerably less than the typical rates. Payment has to be made through facebook, and they claim to provide purchase protection.
With the cost of shipping a trombone somewhere in the $75. range, it would be great if there was a way to save on shipping, but is there a "catch?"

They take fees for all purchases, so I haven't used it myself.

They don't take fees for local sales. If you arrange your own shipping, they don't take fees on shipped items. It may depend on how the item is listed.

I think they do if you use the Facebook payment method, but I haven't tried it yet.
