Recording

Post by michaelegan »

What have you found is the best set up for recording lessons, practice, 4tets, etc. Zoom H6? Tascam DR40?
Do you use an external mic rather than the mounted mics? Which one?

Unless you're doing "important" recordings (audition and things), your phone or a Zoom H2 will do that just fine with a lot less headache.

Hard agree with Aiden. A zoom handy recorder will be the best decision. Using a standalone microphone (even just a usb mic) will require way more setup, and is way less convenient. Right now I record lessons with my phone, but I am looking at getting a zoom recorder soon.

Auditions are a different story, and feel free to PM me if you need help diving into the Mic realm.
