Pro Tec Max bass trombone bag fitment

Post by Kingfan »

I have the chance to get a nice used one on line at half price. I would like to know if it will fit my King 7B bass. It looks like it should, but I would rather know for sure. Anybody using one with a 7B or one of the Chinese clones of it? Thanks!

Never mind. The seller is 1,600 miles away and even though the Facebook Marketplace post says he will ship, he won't. Anybody in Laredo, TX need a deal on a bass t-bone bag?

I'm currently selling one for $90 and I will ship at the buyer's expense.

I'd be more surprised if it DIDN'T fit a King 7B or the clones of it. A King 8B, on the other hand, might be too tight at the flare.

Bass in the first photo is the Besson in my signature, which has a 10" bell. It's no 7B, but perhaps these pictures can help you decide if you're still perusing options.

Notice the curved cut toward the bell. I believe this was intended to make sure the King basses with the more forward bell brace can fit (Duo Gravis and older 7B Indy; again, 8B maybe). Maybe the factor to watch for is the levers, but it's fairly roomy there.

I'd jump on this if I didn't have one already. Can easily be resold at that price, as well.

I have used the ProTec Max bass bag/case for numerous bass trombones, some of them have had very wide and deep double valve attachments. It worked for all of them. I think that it should be an easy fit for the King 7B.
