Beware Basili cases

Post by LeTromboniste »

Just a word of caution for people who might want to order cases from Ciro Basili. Here was my experience:

Contacted him early this year about a new design of sackbut cases and an order for six, for my colleagues and I. His quote was 1 month for the making, then 1 month for shipping. He said ours would be the next order he tackles. We officialised the order mid-march. Paid by PayPal at his request (and thank god I did!).

Then, delays, delays, delays. Paypal taking time to release the money, moving houses and such, and "oh I work alone so it takes time" (yes but you knew that when you quoted 1 month instead of the several that it apparently takes...)

Then, radio silence. He stopped responding to my e-mails, despite repeated attempts at requesting an update asap. I finally opened a case with PayPal and elevated it just before the 180 day buyer protection expired. Refund received now, at least. But a massive waste of time and energy.

Not recommended! YMMV of course.

Yep.

Same thing here. I did get my case from him. And 5 months in it is already falling apart.

Very disappointed.

Wow! Sad to hear!

I use one of his bass trombone cases daily since more than 10 years. It still looks great. Hopefully he can me it back to that quality and customer service.
