Very Minor Outer Slide Damage. Worth Repairing?

Post by OompaLoompia »

I accidentally dinged my slide the other day and was wondering if this was worth spending $ to repair/risk making it worse. Pictures attached. You can see that the entry point for the outer slide is a little warped/flat. It doesn’t seem to affect slide action at all and I don’t hear any scratching aside from the typical nickel slide noise. Is this worth taking in to repair?

Yes. If you dropped the outer it might be out of alignment also.

Yes, definitely. As pfrancis said, the alignment might be out, and it might also be more out of round than you think. Shouldn't be a major fix IMHO.

Those quadruple slides are hard to align.

Is it a quadruple slide? I assumed it was shadow cast by a chandelier or other multiple light source.

Is it a joke or will this show up on one of those "Unexplained Paranormal Experiences" TV shows?

Straight from Area 51. That’s why the OP had to gravity check it.

Not sure, but I'll assume this is a legit OP concern.
A repair is urgent if the dent drags on the inner slide tube stocking as it passes over it.
You don't want to wear a track on the stocking.
Simple, inexpensive repair with no danger of causing further damage.
