where's the Hetman's

Post by sacfxdx »

I can not seem to find any Hetman's 11 or 11.5 anywhere. Is this a normal supply chain issue or a communist plot? :idk:

My local shop has had trouble getting certain Hetman products for a while. He just got in a shipment of Hetmans and mentioned that some things were not available. I forget what. I will be in there tomorrow - I can check on the 11 and 11.5.

Not to derail the topic too far, but this is a fascinating article on how COVID affected the supply chain. The NY Times ended up hiring a dedicated logistics reporter because of all this.

Whether your specific Hetman's issue is related or not, someone would have to call Hetman's, but this is an interesting read, and a good intro to how the global supply chain works.

And I've got an extra bottle of #11 I can ship you; PM me and we can work something out.

Is that a good substitute for Hetman's 11 for axials?

I use regular Ultra Pure on all my valves, love it.

I had to wait a while to find Hetman 3 for the leaky valves on my tuba. Everything's moving a bit slow lately.

I heard a rumor that Hetmans was sold to another company.
Maybe?? Can anyone confirm?

Me too. Left Hetman's about 6 months ago and love ultra pure. I have 1 slide that their Alessi slide snot does not agree with, but everything else is Ultra Pure.

Which ultra pure is comparable to the Hetman’s 11? Looking for something for axials.

Thanks.

Supply chain issues can strike in strange ways, like a company suddenly not able to get enough needle oiler ends for their bottles. Not saying that's the problem, but it is the type of thing I have seen.

That's what US Band/ St. Louis Music is saying. It's my understanding that Joe Hetman retired as well.

The company I work for is getting Hetmans in stock. I was told the hold up was supply troubles with the bottles.
So everything should be back to normal soon.
